How It Works
Building a casita in your backyard is a big project. You deserve to know exactly what happens, when it happens, and what you're responsible for (spoiler: not much). Here's our process, step by step.
We visit your property, walk your yard, and assess what's possible. We'll discuss your goals — rental income, family housing, home office, guest suite — and recommend the best casita model based on your lot size, setbacks, and zoning.
What happens in this step:
You pick your model and we give you one price. That's it. Our quote includes everything — design, structural engineering, permits, materials, construction, and finish. No line items to decipher, no allowances that balloon later, no change-order games.
What happens in this step:
This is where most builders lose homeowners — buried in city paperwork, bounced between departments, waiting months with no updates. We handle 100% of the permitting process. City applications, structural engineering plans, zoning review, and any HOA coordination.
What happens in this step:
Once permits are approved, our crew breaks ground. We pour the foundation, frame the structure, and rough-in the electrical and plumbing systems. This is when your casita starts to take shape — and it happens fast.
What happens in this step:
This is where your casita goes from a frame to a finished home. Every trade is handled in-house by our own crew — no subcontractors means no finger-pointing, no scheduling conflicts, and no quality gaps between trades.
What happens in this step:
City inspection, certificate of occupancy, and a full walkthrough with you. We walk every inch of your new casita together, review every system, answer every question, and hand you the keys. Your warranty starts the day we hand over.
What happens in this step:
The Space Break Difference
You don't have to move out. You don't have to call the city. You don't have to coordinate subcontractors. You don't have to chase down inspections. We handle all of it.
